Fashion news – English edition
What has happened?
Last week the first edition of the Czech street con took place – translated as a “posh” flea market. What you could have found here, was a lot of interesting things from famous brands to young designers and you did not have to pay too much! The organizers have simply decided to put together your favorite labels in one place, freed from the need to buy something else. We think it’s a great idea and even though it’s over, organizers have planned other events such as Streetwear night, which will be held in April.
Students of the Prague Academy of Arts (UMPRUM) have achieved an exceptional success last week! At the prestigious international exhibition International Fashion Showcase (IFS), which is held annually as part of London Fashion Week, they won the special jury award for extraordinary overall presentation. The competition was huge and we are thrilled that czech fashion continues in proving its quality abroad!
What‘s about to happen…?
Even though this event is not in Prague, it is definitely worth it. So you can take a road trip to Zlín! Fashion Point is held on March 11th. Who is responsible for it? Students of design and art from Zlín! It is awesome that new concepts and events like this one are being created. Whoever wants to have a look at the young budding designers, this is definitely a good opportunity. We are about to visit young designers from Zlín, what about you?
Mercedes Benz Prague Fashion Week F/W 17
March is definitely known as fashion month and there is a lot of events to visit. But the main and most publicized happening is MBPFW F/W 17. This time you can see the shows at shopping mall Kotva in the city center. The third floor of this mall is gonna change into fashion madness from 17th to 24th March. You can go see the show with the best Czech designers, but there is a very attractive accompanying program! As usual, there will be held Sustainable fashion day. Footshop and LaFormela will present their joint collection and Miro Sabo will introduce his new project A.LAB. And there is much more to look forward to so… do not miss it!
Major program (fashion shows) is from March 18 to 22, but the supporting program will be running from Friday 17 to Friday 24. The opening show will be the one by Miro Sabo on Saturday at 2pm. On Thursday, March 23, you can visit RE-SEE SHOWROOM (supported by Nespresso & Elle) – collections from the catwalk will be presented here so you can take a closer look and admission is free!
